The reason we chose our topic to be about the Flappers of 1920 is because we were interested in the change of fashion for the ladies who rebeled against being like the average woman. As the years went on, the ladies became more independent and started to make changes in their everyday actions just to prove to themselves that they were independent and they could do whatever they wanted. These women didnt like the fact that all of the girls thought they had to wait for the men to make the fitrst move as they sit back and wait, so they got a little sassy to prove their points.
In the process of conducting our research, we used many different websites. We went to the library and found a couple of good books that explained the flapper fashion and what exactly they were known for. There were multiple websites with very useful information for our project, which helped out tremendously.
We created our website by following the steps on the national history day website. These steps guided us through the whole process of making this website. Our project relates to the them because it was a turning point not only in womens fashion, but also in the way women were seen by men. They were suppose to be just average housewives that sat around and waited on the husband. The ladies switched it up and had all eyes on them.
